Did you know that in 1978 there was a Star Wars themed educational package sent to schools from a company called Pendulum Press?  Did you know that in the box there was a poster, a film strip, a 5 part comic adaptation of Star Wars and an audio read along cassette?   Could you guess that we are doing a whole episode about this amazing and extremely rare piece of forgotten Star Wars history?  Join us as we listen to the whole wild thing and discuss important topics like robot voice Stormtroopers and how to really “easy does it”.

When the High Republic publishing initiative was announced, we couldn’t help but be reminded of the classic Dark Horse Star Wars comic series TALES OF THE JEDI!  Also taking place many years before the films and telling the stories of ancient Jedi, the comics went to some wild places that we’re still trying to figure out! How were they created?  What input did Lucas have and how did they inspire the prequels?  What happened as Gabe read many of them for the first time?  Do they make any sense?

It was an anthology series that would feature everything from stories about the main heroes to thrilling tales of Yaddle or George R. Binks, Jar Jar’s sea captain father. They go over which stories and issues have some of their favorites and why the carefree spirit of the Tales comics is for them missed in today’s strictly controlled Star Wars universe.
